China University of Petroleum (East China) | China

Dr. Jianguo Song is a Professor of Geophysics at the China University of Petroleum (East China), Qingdao, with a research h-index of 20 (based on Google Scholar data), over 392 citations and more than 41 peer-reviewed documents published. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Geophysics (1997–2001), Master’s in Geodetection & Information Technology (2001–2004) and PhD in Geological Resources and Geological Engineering (2004–2009) all from the same institution. Since joining the university in 1996 he has progressed through roles as lecturer and associate professor to full professor in 2015, and serves as deputy director of the Department of Geophysics and supervisor of the MoYan Research Group. His research interests include borehole and offshore broadband seismic data processing and interpretation, visco-elastic seismic wave propagation theory, reservoir parameter estimation and seismic enhancement via modern programming tools. He has led over sixty funded projects, holds three invention patents and one software registration, and has been recognised with the Science & Technology Progress Prize of the China Petroleum & Chemical Industry Federation (2nd class) and the Shandong Province Science & Technology Progress Prize (3rd class). In conclusion, Professor Song combines deep theoretical insight with hands-on software development and industrial application, offering strong mentorship for students skilled in mathematics and computer programming.
