Following her master's degree, she pursued a Doctorate degree in Pharmaceutical Biology at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Germany, from 1994 to 1998. Her doctoral dissertation, conducted under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Peter Proksch, centered on the isolation and structure elucidation of bioactive secondary metabolites from Philippine marine sponges and soft corals. Her academic achievements during this period culminated in receiving the degree of Dr. rer. Nat with Magna cum Laude honors in June 1998.
