Dr. Rosendo Monroy Loperena, born on November 6, 1957, in Tenancingo, State of Mexico, embarked on his academic journey at the Universidad Iberoamericana, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (1976-1980). His dedication to education and academic excellence was evident early on, as he graduated with honors. Continuing his studies at the same institution, he pursued a Master’s Degree in Systems Planning and Informatics from 1982 to 1984, further solidifying his foundation in chemical and systems engineering.

In 1997, Monroy Loperena began his Ph.D. at the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM), Iztapalapa Unit, completing it in 1999. His doctoral studies were marked by an impressive performance, culminating in the receipt of the University Merit Medal, an acknowledgment of his exceptional academic contributions. Monroy Loperena’s thirst for knowledge and innovation led him to a postdoctoral fellowship at the prestigious Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV-IPN) from 2012 to 2014, where he specialized in biotechnology.
