Assoc Prof Dr. Duan Xianzhe began his academic journey at Hebei University of Geosciences, China, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Geology in June 2008. Subsequently, he pursued a Ph.D. at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, completing his doctoral studies in July 2014.

Since December 2016, Assoc Prof Dr.Duan has been serving as an Associate Professor at the University of South China, and he took on the role of Director of the Geology Department in December 2020. His commitment to international collaboration is evident from his time as a Visiting Fellow at the Research School of Earth Sciences, Australian National University, from December 2016 to December 2017.
