Lecturer Walid El Hamad earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting from the University of Wollongong in 2021. His doctoral thesis, “A Spectacular Production: NEITI, Transparency, and Accountability in the Extractive Industry in Nigeria,” reflects his deep engagement with critical issues in the field. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours (Class I) (2016) and a Bachelor of Commerce Accounting (Dean’s Scholar) (2015), both from the University of Wollongong. Earlier, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in History from the Lebanese University, Lebanon, in 2005.

Currently, Walid serves as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Law, School of Business – Accounting at the University of Wollongong (2024 – Present).
