Prof Dr Zubair M. Ahmed began his academic journey with a B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, in 1995. He continued his education, obtaining an M.Sc. in Biological Sciences from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 1998. Dr. Ahmed completed his formal education with a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from the National Centre for Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, in 2002. His doctoral thesis focused on the "Genetic and Molecular Basis of Syndromic Deafness," under the guidance of Drs. Tayyab Husnain and Farhat Zaheer.

Prof Dr . Ahmed embarked on a series of postgraduate training and fellowships in the field of Molecular Genetics.
