Abdul Rasool’s research interests lie at the intersection of environmental sociology, policy analysis, health sociology, and development studies. He is particularly passionate about exploring the socio-environmental impacts of agricultural practices, such as his current Ph.D. research on the synthetic impacts of tobacco farming on farming communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Pakistan. Abdul is also keen on analyzing solid waste management policies and their implications, as demonstrated in his Master’s thesis on the policies and issues surrounding solid waste management in District Hyderabad, Sindh.

His interests extend to examining the comparative analysis of rural and urban life, the long-term health impacts of repeated flood events, and the sociological and ecological vulnerabilities resulting from nuclear waste discharge. Abdul is committed to understanding and addressing the challenges faced by marginalized communities, including the impact of COVID-19 on the lives of eunuchs (Hijras) in Hyderabad, and the hurdles to women’s inheritance rights in various societies of Pakistan.
