Prof. Dr. med. Diamant Thaçi is a leading dermatologist and inflammation medicine expert whose career spans clinical practice, translational research, and academic leadership. Dr. Lubwama began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from Makerere University, Uganda, where he acquired a solid foundation in clinical medicine. He further advanced his qualifications by pursuing a Master of Medicine in Dermatology at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. To complement his dermatology training, he also undertook short courses in laser surgery, photo-electronic therapy, and ultrasound scanning of the skin, which have enhanced his expertise in modern dermatological procedures. With over twelve years of progressive medical practice, Dr. Lubwama has built a strong clinical portfolio. He began his career as a house officer at Arua and Hoima Regional Referral Hospitals, where he gained valuable exposure to emergency and inpatient care. Following this, he served as a medical officer at Kagadi Referral Hospital, contributing to obstetrics and general medicine while also engaging in public health campaigns against HIV/AIDS. His international experience expanded in Botswana, where he worked as a senior medical officer in private practice and later as a specialist dermatologist at Princess Marina National Referral Hospital in Gaborone. On returning to Uganda, he has taken on the role of Associate Consultant Dermatologist at Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he provides advanced dermatological services, including laser therapies, cryotherapy, minor surgical interventions, and public health awareness on skin care. His extensive practice reflects his ability to adapt to varied healthcare systems and effectively serve both urban and rural populations.
