Education 
Prof. Dr. Sebastian Blecha completed his medical degree at the University of Leipzig (2003–2009) and trained as a nurse at Elbland Klinikum Riesa (1998–2001). He earned his PhD in Neurooncology in 2012 and completed his Habilitation on quality of life post-acute lung failure in 2021 at the University of Regensburg.
Professional Experience 
He currently holds an associate professorship in Anesthesiology (since 2024) and serves as the head of the Cardiac-Thoracic ICU at University Hospital Regensburg (2020–present). His previous roles include various positions in anesthesiology at University Hospitals in Regensburg and Leipzig (2011–2020), culminating in his qualification as a cardioanesthesiologist (2017–2019).
Research Interests 
Prof. Blecha’s research focuses on intensive care medicine, particularly the quality of life of survivors after severe lung conditions and operational workflows in neurooncology.
