Dr. Stefan Danylak | Biosensing and Bioimaging | Excellence in Innovation

Dr Stefan Danylak is a dental clinician-researcher whose educational journey spans a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sydney (1980), a Long Course in Crown & Bridgework at Melbourne University Dental School (1991), a Masters of Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Swinburne University (1998), a Certificate IV Training & Assessment from Inspire Education (2021), an MPhil candidature (2021-22) then a PhD candidature from the University of Queensland (2023-present). He holds professional affiliations with the Australian Dental Association, American Dental Association, International Association for Dental Research, and the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society of Australia; he has served as adjunct lecturer for Melbourne University and La Trobe University via clinical mentorship programmes (2021-24), as clinical mentor for the ADAVB New Graduate Programme (2020-24), and as clinical instructor for RipeGlobal online education (2023-present). His research interests lie in dental ergonomics, posture, loupe and chair design, musculoskeletal risk in dental practice, and human-factors interventions in dentistry. He has received funding from the Australian Dental Research Foundation (AUD 7,486) and awards such as “Most Innovative Research Project Award” at UQ School of Dentistry Annual Research Day, and he has presented at international forums including the IADR and the Haptic Thinkers Group (UK). he is emerging in his research career. Conclusion, Dr Danylak is combining clinical experience and human-factors research to inform better ergonomic practice in dentistry and to contribute toward improved occupational health and performance in dental professionals.
