Dr. Nursalim has had a diverse professional career. Since 1993, he has served as a professor at UPI, where he teaches courses such as Geometric Drawing, Form Drawing, and Western Art History. In addition to his academic role, he has been a Civil Engineering Consultant at PT MEGA POWER TEKNINDO in Jakarta since 2004. His industry experience includes roles as a Staff Planner at PT NATA PILAR PUSAKA and PT Hoemar Tjokrodiatmo in Jakarta and as a Kitchen Steward at Stamford Hotel in Sydney, Australia. His early career began as a planner at Studio Widagdo and Partners in Bandung.

His work explores the creative responses of batik artisans to global market changes, the sociocultural dynamics of coastal communities, and the negotiation of women’s roles in traditional performances.
