Early Academic Pursuits

Karan Chugh embarked on his academic journey in Polymer Engineering and Technology at the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai. He completed his B.Tech in this discipline between 2011 and 2015. Later, he pursued an M.Tech at ICT from 2016 to 2018, where he achieved an impressive CGPA of 8.84. During his M.Tech, he undertook a research project on Polyamide hot melt adhesives and Graphene oxide-based epoxy coatings for anti-corrosion applications, showcasing his early interest and expertise in the domain.

Professional Endeavors

Post his M.Tech, Karan took on roles that honed his expertise in R&D within the polymer industry. He served as an R&D Executive at Standard Products, Mumbai, between June 2015 and August 2016. Subsequently, he joined Indokem Limited, Mumbai, as an Assistant Manager in R&D. Here, he spearheaded projects focused on polymeric emulsions, anti-corrosion additives, silicone and non-silicone softeners, and occupational health safety management systems.

Contributions and Research Focus

Karan Chugh has significantly contributed to the field of polymers, adhesives, coatings, and material science. He has published five research articles and three book chapters in renowned international journals and publications. His research has covered diverse topics such as polyester-etheramide hot melt adhesives, graphene-based nanocontainers for corrosion protection, and bio-based benzoxazine resin synthesis. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. at ICT, Mumbai, his research focuses on the chemical modification of polymers for sustainable development.

Accolades and Recognition

Karan's academic and professional achievements have earned him multiple accolades. He received the Academic Achievement Award from the Rotary Club in 2019 and secured the 1st rank at the National level in the ABACUS EXAM held in Chennai. His proficiency in AutoCAD was recognized when he secured 96% and an A++ grade in a government-recognized CAD exam.
