Prof. Sargis Ter-Avetisyan is a Senior Research Fellow at ELI-NP specializing in relativistic, ultra-high intensity laser-plasma interactions, x-ray generation, and particle acceleration. He earned his PhD in Physics (Optics) in 1991 and graduated from Yerevan State University in 1984. His professional experience spans leadership and research roles at ELI-ALPS, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, ELI-Beamlines, Queens University Belfast, and Max Born Institute, with notable achievements in laser-driven mono-energetic ions, collimation of proton bursts, and particle beam diagnostics. Prof. Sargis Ter-Avetisyan has published extensively, holds a patent, supervised students, and led multiple international research grants, contributing significantly to high-energy density physics.
