Shelley Schmollgruber is an Associate Professor in the School of Therapeutics, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand. She is an experienced critical care nurse academic with extensive national and international leadership in intensive and critical care nursing. Her work spans clinical practice, education, research, and health policy, with a strong focus on sepsis, evidence-based practice, end-of-life care, and critical care nursing education in low- and middle-income settings. She has served on multiple global and African professional bodies and has received numerous awards for research excellence, publications, and contributions to advancing critical care nursing practice and policy.
