Prof. Zhifeng Qin has been a member of the State Key Laboratory of Coal‑Based Clean and Efficient Utilization of Energy at Taiyuan University of Technology, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2021. From 2019 to 2022 he completed post‑doctoral research at Tsinghua University and the Shanxi Provincial Environmental Planning Institute, focusing on both fundamental and applied aspects of gas desulfurization and purification. His interests include hydrodesulfurization and hydrolysis of organic sulfur compounds; H₂S adsorption materials; iron‑based wet‑oxidation catalytic removal of hydrogen sulfide; and alcohol‑amine methods for sulfur‑compound removal from coke‑oven gas. He has led or participated in over ten research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a Central Government‑Guided Local Science & Technology Development Fund, major Shanxi provincial science‑technology initiatives, an Excellent Talent Innovation Programme in Shanxi, a Lvliang City university–local government cooperation R&D programme, and numerous industrial horizontal projects. He has authored more than ten peer‑reviewed articles in journals such as Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, Energy Conversion and Management, Catalysis Letters, Chemical Engineering Progress and Chemical Engineering Journal. He has filed over 28 invention‑patent applications (20 granted) and contributed to the development of four industry standards. His metrics currently stand at an h‑index of approximately 10, with more than 23 published documents and over 887 citations, reflecting his sustained impact in the field. He remains committed to delivering high‑efficiency desulfurization solutions and technical support to industries including coking, fertilizer, steel, coal‑bed methane, coal gas, natural gas and biogas, with the goal of driving innovation in gas‑purification technologies and advancing clean-energy development in coal‑based systems.
