Biography of Prof. Koffi Wilfrid Houedanou 🎓

Prof. Houedanou’s academic journey began with a Certificat d’Étude Primaire (CEP) in 1998, followed by a Breuvet d’Étude du Premier Cycle (BEPC) in 2001. He completed his BaccalaurĂ©at, SĂ©rie C in 2005, then obtained both a Licence and Master in Mathematics from FAST/UAC, Benin in 2009. His advanced studies culminated in a DiplĂ´me d’Étude Approfondie (DEA) in 2012 and a Unique Doctorate in Mathematics with a specialization in Analysis in 2015, under the guidance of renowned advisors.
Current Positions 🏫
Since October 2016, he has served as a Lecturer-Researcher at the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques (FAST) of the University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC), Benin. He has held the role of Pedagogical Coordinator for the Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Mathematics-Computer Science since January 2021. In January 2023, he became the Vice-President of the Association des Professeurs de Mathématiques du Bénin (APMB). In 2023, he attained the rank of Maître de Conférences with the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES).
Research Areas 🔍
Prof. Houedanou’s research focuses on Mathematics, particularly in the fields of Partial Differential Equations (PDE) and Numerical Analysis. His key areas of interest include Isogeometric Finite Element Methods for PDEs, Optimal Control Problems, Transmission Problems Analysis, and A-priori and A-posteriori Error Analysis of PDEs.
Conferences and Schools 🌍
He has actively participated in various conferences and schools, including the GIRAGA School in 2012 at IMSP, where he presented his work. He attended a school on Numerical Methods in Senegal in 2013, a conference in India on Discrete Integral Systems in 2014, and a colloquium in Paris, also presenting his findings.
Scientific Experience 🧪
Prof. Houedanou engaged in a three-month scientific stay at the Mathematics and Applications Laboratory in Valenciennes, France, in 2014 and conducted a research visit to South Africa from January to March 2017.
Awards 🏆
He was honored as the laureate of the Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh Prize in Mathematics in 2013, awarded by esteemed scientific societies in France.
Professional Experience đź’Ľ
His professional experience includes serving as an Honorary Mathematics Teacher in secondary schools from 2009 to 2014 and being a member of various sub-commissions for BaccalaurĂ©at and BTS corrections in Benin. He has held teaching positions at UAC and IMSP, focusing on Algebra and Analysis, and is responsible for courses in Partial Differential Equations and Weighted Residue Methods for Master’s students.
