Dr. Martin Skitmore holds advanced degrees in construction management and quantity surveying, highlighting his strong academic foundation. He earned his Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees, contributing significantly to his field through rigorous research and scholarship. His education laid the groundwork for a distinguished career in academia and industry, where he has made substantial contributions to construction economics, project management, and procurement.

Dr. Martin Skitmore’s professional experience spans over four decades and includes significant academic and industry roles. Currently, he is a University Professorial Research Fellow at Bond University, a position he has held since 2021. Prior to this, he was a Professor at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) from 1995 to 2020, where he also served as Discipline Leader, Head of School, and Adjunct Professor. His tenure at QUT was marked by leadership in construction management education and research. From 1978 to 1995, Dr. Skitmore was with the University of Salford, advancing from Lecturer to Professor. He also served as a Senior Lecturer at Blackpool College of Technology & Art from 1975 to 1978. Before entering academia, he gained practical experience as a Quantity Surveyor, providing him with a robust foundation in the industry.
